Cameo Signup is a web app for use by staff or volunteers collecting contacts at a gathering of some kind. It’s a special kind of web page which works offline, and, once installed, should only need an internet connection to upload the saved details to Cameo after an event. A PIN number is needed to use it: a new section in the Profile menu manages these PINs. Read More…
Member rate tickets and multiple discounts for event bookings
Tickets for events can now be offered at a reduced rate for current members. To book, they have to use an email address of a member and cannot purchase more tickets than the number of individuals in their membership. You can also now select more than one special rate, so it is possible to have, for example, a member rate which is only available until a certain date. Read More…
Subscribe to receive email notifications about reminder message tags directly from a message
You can now subscribe to message tags (that is, receive email for messages added with those tags), and unsubscribe from them, by clicking a tag, in the reminder message itself in the Reminder Messages section on the Library menu, and when preparing a new reminder message in the Add Reminder section, as well as in your profile. Reminder messages now show already subscribed tags in green. A list of your currently subscribed tags (or exceptions) is also now shown at the top of the Reminder Messages section. Read More…
Template editor: tinymce version 5
Tinymce is the rich text editor used by Cameo, for editing templates and some form text. Tinymce version 5 has been available for a while now; it will be phased in to Cameo over the next few weeks. The update includes a new substitution selection box. In the first instance, version 5 is experimental. You can turn version 5 on at the end of the Profile section: exercising the new version would be very helpful. At some point, I will reverse this: everyone will get version 5 but you can revert back to version 4 if you run into problems. Once confident it is all working, in a few weeks or months version 4 will be removed completely. Read More…
Expired and cancelled event bookings
Cameo now retains any bookings which expire or are cancelled, instead of deleting them. Additional information is added to provisional bookings to offer insight as to why a booking may have been abandoned. This information also to make it easier to process refunds if a payment was made but the booking did not complete. Also, all bookings can now be purged from Cameo after a number of months or years. Sending email to event attendees
Sending emails to people who booked for an event is easier with a new button in the Reservations, Bookings and Attendance section on the Events menu . This doesn’t add anything you couldn’t do manually before, but it brings several steps together in one place.
To send email to event attendees, you need a list which selects them and a template which has that list as its audience. The email attendees button at the end of the Reservations section makes both for you in one go. Read More…

Re-send email
It is now possible to re-send an email if it fails to send, later bounces back, or if the recipient has lost it. Look for the Resend Email button in the Past Communications and Change History section on the Member Info menu (or just History at the bottom of each membership record). Re-send can also replace recipient email address(es) if amended since the email was originally sent. Read More…
Reconciliation transaction matching
The method of matching bank statement transactions to memberships has been tweaked a little. Rather than only matching members to bank transactions when accounts are the same, we now include memberships with different accounts, but weight them less so they would appear lower down the list of possible matches than a better match.
