Cameo 10: proposed changes to lists

For Cameo 10, I am thinking about making some changes to how lists and templates work to address some problems, particularly with opting out. I envisage:

• Separating opt-outs from lists, so that people opt-out from a small number of purposes for which templates are sent.

“Questions” – a form type for questionnaires, surveys, polls, petitions, consultations and applications

A new form type, “questions”, joins the stable of Cameo forms. This provides general data acquisition for things like questionnaires and petitions, or anywhere you want to collect structured responses to a set of questions connected to a respondent. Accompanying the form is a new section, “questionnaire and petition responses”, in “member info”. You can see the responses to your form in various ways there, including on bar charts, pie charts and maps. Sending email to event attendees

Sending emails to people who booked for an event is easier with a new button in the Reservations, Bookings and Attendance section on the Events menu . This doesn’t add anything you couldn’t do manually before, but it brings several steps together in one place.

To send email to event attendees, you need a list which selects them and a template which has that list as its audience. The email attendees button at the end of the Reservations section makes both for you in one go. Read More…
