You or your browser may have bookmarked a password reset link instead of the ordinary link for Cameo.
Or maybe you are hunting for a link to Cameo in your email and finding a reset password link that seems to do what you want, except for the error message.
Identify a password reset link by looking at the browser’s address bar (Fig 1) or the link in the email (Fig 2). The page address (URL) include a long sequence of letters and digits after a question mark.
- As a side effect, expired or invalid password resets set off a security alarm, so it would really help if you could avoid this.

How do I fix it?
make a new bookmark
However you are getting here, you’ll want to make a correct bookmark. Log in to Cameo, then add the new bookmark (varies between browsers, but typically CTRL+D on PC or CMD+D on Mac).
If you’re not sure how to use bookmarks, do a search for your browser, e.g. bookmarks in safari. There’s lots and lots of information that will help you.
Note that if you bookmark Cameo’s log-in page, you are defeating the point of the remember me box. By logging in first, you bookmark Cameo’s landing page rather than the log in page. In future, if you happen not to be logged in at that point, you will be redirected to the log in page anyway.
delete an explicit bookmark
If you previously added an explicit bookmark, open your bookmarks manager from the main menu of your browser, find the bookmark that has the problem URL and delete it. In Chrome, you can instead click the solid asterisk in the address bar to remove the link from your bookmarks.
delete from browser frequently used web sites
If the browser is doing this automatically for you, start typing the URL in the way you did originally to get here. But instead of selecting the bad link offered, delete it. This varies from browser to browser. In Chrome (and Brave) look for an X button to the right of the offending URL. In some browsers you can select the link with the down-arrow key then press DEL or CTRL+DEL.
don’t use reset link in email (except to really reset your password)
If you are searching your email for a link to Cameo, finding the password reset link, and clicking it simply to find Cameo, please don’t! Bookmark the page in your browser instead, as above. It’s much quicker than trying to find an old email.
Alternatively, if you can’t cope with browser bookmarks, password reset emails all have the general link to Cameo in them too (Fig 2). Use that instead.
