In reworking forms for Cameo 9, the way in which forms are hosted has changed. In some cases this will also require a change to DNS records.
Forms are now hosted within Cameo itself. Though they still have a separate domain name, this will always point at the same server as Cameo.
Previously, the forms were hosted independently of both Cameo and the website in which they were embedded. The intention was to keep public load demand off the relatively low-powered Cameo server. However, the disadvantages of outweighed the advantages.
The main externally-visible change is that forms no longer need to be re-installed after each set of changes: updates are live all the time. Internally, this allows forms to share Cameo’s code, such as like logs and diagnostics.
